HRH Crown Prince Moulay Rachid places foundation stone for Bab al-Bahar mega development

Rabat, May 12, 2009 – His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid, Tuesday, laid the Foundation Stone for the Bab al-Bahar mega development.

At the ceremony, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid reviewed a presentation on the stages of the US$ 750 million project, which is a joint venture between Morocco's Bouregrag River Development Agency and the UAE’s Al Maabar.

Getting the full support of Crown Prince Moulay Rachid, the 55,000 square meters of residential and commercial buildings, the 5-star hotel, hotel apartments, office buildings, shopping centers, a theatre, arts city, a tunnel, a bridge and full amenities and facilities will be built on an area of 7 million square feet.

Crown Prince Moulay Rachid, who set the strategy for the Morocco’s Vision 2020, is hoping the residential and tourist complex will create more sustainable jobs and more safe economic and social well-being of the Moroccan people in the coming decades.

The ceremony, held at the project’s site in Sale-Rabat, was attended by dignitaries, visitors and guests from Morocco and the UAE.
