HRH Crown Prince Moulay Rachid unites scouts beneath the wealth of cultural diversity

Rabat, August 15, 2008 – His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid, President of National Federation of Moroccan Scouting, consented the opening of the 6th edition of the Tour of Morocco under theme "Morocco is a land of the wealth of cultural diversity ".

Wholeheartedly behind this initiative and keen to support the topic of cultural diversity, with special emphasis on UNESCO's Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions and its significance in the affirmation of cultural identities and multiculturalism, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid has inspired the Scouts  to contribute to the creation of cultural networks and new ways of communication and cooperation.

Organized from August 15th to 30th 2008, the Tour will pass by Temara – Rabat - Tantan - Laayoune and other striking Moroccan cities.

The goal of this project is substantially to increase international research activities in the field of cultural policies, and to promote and protect the cultural heritage of the Kingdom of Morocco.

Organized in association with Organization of the Scout Moroccan - District Temara, this several-day event, which includes debates and meetings on the significance of international instrument on cultural diversity enables participants to discuss a number of issues, including cultural diversity and social rights from the point of view of the challenges posed by globalization for upholding cultural specificity and developing the social safety net.
