HRH Crown Prince Moulay Rachid takes opportunity of the Summit for bilateral meetings

Paris, July 13, 2008 – Taking offers of the Summit’s unique opportunity to have interactions with the leaders to strengthen ties, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Rachid had a series of bilateral meetings with key leaders Sunday on the sidelines of the Mediterranean Union launch summit.

On Sunday Crown Prince Moulay Rachid met with the Mauritanian president Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh A bdallahi.

During the meeting the two leaders of state underlined importance find strategic to serve to strengthen bilateral cooperation bilateral relations and discussed trade and economic ties, cultural contacts and in other areas of mutual interest.

The relations between Morocco and Mauritania have been developing more progressively as a result of a number of recent meetings between Crown Prince Moulay Rachid and Mauritanian president.

At the margins of the summit, Crown Prince Moulay Rachid also had an opportunity for informal meetings with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Prince Albert II of Monaco, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Qatar Emir Sheikh Hamad Ben Khalifa Al Thani, Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak and Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

Talks during the meeting dealt with various aspects of bilateral relations as well as the peace process, latest developments in the region and the Euro-Arab ties were the subject of discussion.

Witnesses could only praise Crown Prince Moulay Rachid for his diplomatic skills.
